Kevin Blue (right, in photo) was on duty at his Fire Station when he got the call... His Mother's home was on fire! He rushed to the site to see his worst fears coming true. In spite of his job as one of Jacksonville's brave firefighters, he couldn't save the home.

Builders Care was working at the Boselli Youth Life Learning Center just a block away when we heard the sirens and saw the flames. The next day, Mrs. Blue's granddaughter found Builders Care Pastor Chris Simons at the Boselli site and talked with him about her Grandmother's plight. They visited the home and saw the utter devastation the home had suffered from the fire from a faulty air conditioner.

Knowing the challenge that the project represented, Pastor Simons prayed that the resources of Builders Care would be up to the task. Through a combination of our own mission and industry and community involvement, we were able to undertake this fire rehab.

Kevin's fellow firefighters heard about the project and told us that they would take care of the roof... Did they ever! In just ONE day this crew of hard-working and capable men demolished the roof, repaired the substructure and re-shingled it completely... Before they left at the end of a hard day, the roof was completely finished and floors and interior walls were repaired too!

This is just one example of the work of Builders Care. Get involved today and you can help us provide desperately needed construction services for our most fragile citizens.
